The website for Steve the Bike Guy, an independent bicycle shop, was designed to differentiate the business from competitors by telling the Shop’s story, while also allowing visitors to engage by requesting appointments, joining the team, and more.
Content on the site, including how the owners started as cyclists, blog posts featuring customers and team members, and photos are designed to help create a welcoming environment, particularly for new riders who are often intimidated when first approaching a shop.
Through the site, STBG offers a carefully curated selection of items available for purchase online. Connecting Lightspeed, the Shop’s Point of Sale (POS) system, to WooCommerce allows the Shop to easily import and select the products to make available online. While the Shop does not allow for the purchase of bicycles through the site, we still wanted the option to display what was in stock. A slight modification to products within WordPress allows the site to display in-stock bicycles without the option to purchase.
